DCL at the Low Volume Roads Workshop
DCL attended the 2013 Low Volume Roads Workshop in Rotorua. The two day event was packed with very interesting presentations ranging from “doing more with less” and still maintaining a high level of service to challenges the forestry industry face to how open communications are pivotal to ensuring minimum disruption during harvesting.
Numerous presentations highlighted the importance of highly accurate, good quality data being collected at both network and project level. The network level data is used to monitor the road condition and prioritise forward works programmes whilst the project level data is required to gain more precise detail along sites of interest, ensuring the most appropriate remedial works is performed.
